Phnom Nam Lear Wildlife Sanctuary


It has an area of 475 kilometer squares, 45km from the town; it is known for the beautiful scenic beauty and idyllic surroundings. The sanctuary is one of the main wild life reserves in the province. The idyllic environment and the wide variety of flora and fauna make Phnom Nam Lear Sanctuary, Mondulkiri very popular to both local people and foreign tourists. Phnom Nam Lear Sanctuary in Mondulkiri is a wildlife reserve and is home to wide species of local birds and animals. It is located around 80kms from the main town center of Sen Monorom. It takes around 4 hours to travel from the main town center to the sanctuary by car. The journey is very pleasant as the route goes through winding routes and idyllic forests.
Phnom Nam Lear Sanctuary is also a major excursion point in the province. Travelers can also camp in the sanctuary in the night. There are small cottages where one can also stay. The sanctuary is full of beautiful cliffs, small waterfalls, streams and sprawling greenery.

Monorom Waterfall or “Damnak Sdéch Waterfall”



 The Monorom Waterfall is ideally located in Deum Sral Village, Monorom Commune, Sèn Monorom District; 5 km away from the provincial town. It can be accessed by road. Along both sides of the road, there are industrial plantations like rubber, coffee, and cashew.
There are more than 277 families living in the Monorom area of 108 ha, whose main occupations are farming.
This resort is managed by the Monorom Waterfall Managerial Committee vested by the provincial authority in collaboration with the provincial executive committee. Its main points of interest are a spectacular waterfall, dramatic mountainous forest, and fresh air.
The Monorom Waterfall is also commonly called “Damnak Sdéch Waterfall” as it is located 300-400 m away from the ruins of the Preah Norodom Sihanouk’s pavilion founded between 1960 and 1962. Nowadays, the official name of the waterfall is being discussed by the Tourism Department of Mondul Kiri Province and the board of provincial governors to designate it as “Monorom Waterfall” as it is located in Sèn Monorom District and close to the provincial town.

Welcome to  Chrey Thom Waterfall is situated in Poules and Pouchhob Villages, Dakdam Commune, Oreang District; 20 km away from the provincial town. It can be accessed by the red pebble path.
There are more than 208 families living in the Chrey Thom area of 303.555 ha, whose main occupations are farming.
This resort is managed and conserved by the Ethnic Community Commission vested by the provincial authority in collaboration with the provincial executive committee. It is partly supported financially by the DANIDA Organization of Denmark.
During the rainy season, the waterfall is 11 meters in height and 8 meters in diameter.  During the dry season, the waterfall is 15 meters in height and 2 meters in diameter. Near the waterfall is a big branched Chrey tree situated in the Sralao plantation.
The resort provides plenty of opportunities for picnicking, hiking, swimming, especially for visiting an ethnic village and purchasing some souvenirs beautifully produced by ethnic groups.

The Romanea Pee (II) Waterfall is located in Pourang Village, Sèn Monorom Commune, Oreang District; 12 km from the provincial town. It can be accessed by the Road No. 76.
There are more than 108 families living in the Romanea Pee area, whose main occupations are farming.
This resort is managed by the Romanea Pee Waterfall Managerial and Developmental Commission vested by the provincial authority in collaboration with the provincial executive committee.
During the rainy season, the waterfall is 3 meters in height and 10 meters in diameter. During the dry season, the waterfall is 4 meters in height and 6 meters in diameter. At its base, there is a big water reservoir in which tourists can swim happily. Besides, there are many big trees providing cool shade for them.

Welcome to Mondulkiri Province here is the best waterfall
The Bousra Waterfall is conveniently sited in Village I, Bousra Commune, Pech Chreada District; 38 kilometers from Sen Monorom. It can be accessed by red soil road.
There are more than 1,058 families living in the Bousra area of 369 ha, whose main occupations are farming.
Around the resort, there are motels, restaurants, and souvenir shops, two elevators down to the base of the waterfall, small cable cars, a theme park, and resting huts. The resort is managed by the Sor La Investment Co., Ltd. Under the terms of the contract and location lease for a 90-year period made on November 27, 2008, this company has been vested with an investment of US$ 6 million in the area of over 400 ha by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The waterfall is one of the most interesting places for keen tourists in all seasons. It is divided into three stages:
FirstStage:
The waterfall is 15 meters in diameter and 8-12 meters in height during the rainy season and is 10-15 meters in height during the dry season.
SecondStage:
The waterfall is 20 meters in diameter and 15-20 meters in height during the rainy season, and it is 13 meters in diameter and 18-25 meters in height during the dry season. The second stage of the waterfall is situated at a distance of 150 meters from the first stage. Tourists have a strong sentimental attachment to the place.
